The Puck Drop

Fire & Ice Pond Hockey

The Alton Mill's Fire & Ice Family Festival of Flames Food and Fine Art played host to a fantastic charity hockey game on the Millpond between the Caledon Notables (composed of various local area representatives and other known local celebrities) and the Alton Firefighters. This unique event featured Mayor Morrison providing the official puck drop, former NHL Linesman Ray Scapinello as the Referee and featured both Sparky the Fire Dog and Sarge from the Brampton Battalion on hand to greet the young onlookers. Young fans had the opportunity to try their hand at centre ice during half time for a puck shooting contest with all participants receiving a hockey puck. It was a perfect day for the fun family event which included a charity BBQ provided by the Optimist Club. Let's hope it's the first of many more to come! Thanks for a great day.
